A Book of Five Rings was a collection of strategic principles written by Miyamoto Musashi, a 17th century Japanese swordsman and philosopher. The book was studied by martial artists and others for centuries to follow. Curzon Dax recommended A Book of Five Rings to Ensign Benjamin Sisko early in their friendship.
