J. Quiggly Bent was a 27th century scientist who invented a robot that he brought back in time to the days of the Freedom Force. He posed as a superhero so that he could con the inhabitants of the island of Borea into handing over their sacred black pearl in exchange for saving their island from an erupting volcano. The eruption was something that he had faked though. But later when the volcano really erupts, he is unable to save the islanders and only the Freedom Force are able to do so.
