Donald Goodwin is an Internet journalist who created of The Velvet Coffin, and is a former reporter at the Los Angeles Times. He contacted Jack McEvoy in May of 2009 immediately following McEvoy's release from the Times. Later he offered McEvoy a job working on a new investigative arm of the publication.
