In the Thieves Guild questline, during the "Dampened Spirits" quest, it is revealed that Mallus is a Guild associate who plans to ruin his master's business and steal it for Maven Black-Briar. After the quest is completed, he is available as a fence. Unlike ordinary merchants, Mallus, who runs his fencing operation at the Honningbrew Meadery, is open for business around the clock. Stealing from him at any point may result in a contract to have Hired Thugs teach the Dragonborn a lesson.
