Andrew Lavelle from Wrexham won £16,000 on March 16 1999, the last episode of series 3. He was stripped of his prize money when it was revealed he had a number of criminal offences and was wanted by the police. Two other contestants, Neil Muir and Sheridan Booth - who took part in the show just a week before Andrew himself, also lost their prizes for having criminal records. Lavelle's offences included driving while disqualified, obstructing the police, breaching a community service order and not having a TV licence.
