The Galactic Civil War was a major conflict between the oppresive Galactic Empire and the Rebel Alliance. Its roots could be found in a meeting held by a small group of Senators at the end of the Clone Wars, that eventually escalated into ull-scale resistance against the Empire. The war began in 1 BBY, when Starkiller led the Imperial forces in the subjugation of Naboo. This was followed by an attack on Kamino and then one on Mustafar. A small group of dissidents then took up arms against the Empire and the war escalated.
