The GNS strength enhancer was a high-powered version of the preexisting, experimental CNS strength enhancer, and was introduced in the period following the Jedi Civil War. By releasing hormones into the body, the belt-mounted unit increased the performance of muscles, and lacked the protective measures of the CNS unit.
