Elena Ray, also known as Black Manta due to her corporate battle tactics, was head of Research and Development at Shankti Drive Works during the Galactic Civil War. She was also secretly the leader of the G'uotr Network, a criminal black market. She planned to make enough credits through the Network to get herself and her associates off-planet before a supernova destroyed the Demophon system. She managed to control a number of hanger bays in the D'larah spaceport, as well as subvert many members of the D'larah City Patrol. When Demophon was destroyed she intended to be quite wealthy, and leader of a new criminal network.
