By channeling his chakra into his opponent, Riyan is able to distort the target's perception, effectively making a person's five senses unable to properly register what is happening. This power can be negated by one using their chakra to close off their emotions before the hypnosis takes place. He can also use this Genjutsu whenever someone looks directly into his normal Sharingan eyes. In Sharingan form, it takes a similar appearance to Itachi's genjutsu, as it generates crows, followed by two blazing Sharingan eyes to appear behind the opponent with a black backdrop behind them.
