Originally located within the city of Bologna, in 1180 the covenant was moved to a manor house half a day's travel south of the city. The Covenant also owns a small townhouse in Venice. Literatus magi have strong ties to the mundane and the Church. Literatus' location outside Bologna provides Magi with easy access to the city and the University, but offers greater privacy. At any given time, roughly two-thirds of the Covenant's Magi and apprentices are at the manor house, the others in the city. (1)
