Kal Valak was created with the rest of his species by Darth Sirena, Zar Quwil, and Seren Teancum Mordavo. He was a Pureblooded Sith, or as close as could be, cloned using genetic material from an ancient derelict. In the incubation process the body was inscribed with runes and other sorcerers marks as part of the initial experiments on binding souls to create a personality, give skills, and avoid clone madness brought on by the rapid cloning techniques. Kal was part of the first generation of rebirth experiments aimed at resurrecting the Sith Species. The invocation of spirits resulted in severely unstable personalities. BothExan Kess and Kal Valak were stable enough and showed enough potential that they were selected to be trained. Darth Sirena picked Karnior Solace to train the two.
