Ayleids were a race of Mer who ruled over Cyrodiil during the First Era. They where also known as Wild Elves or Heartland High Elves. Descendants from the Aldmer, the Aldmer left their homeland during the middle of the Merethic Era, and relocated to the Summerset Isles. Later, some groups left the isles and continues to go out and explore. They soon took controls of large area's of land. The Ayleid's used slaves to build their empires. Instead of all the Ayleids under one leader, the city's where their own states.
