The Cranium Basher is a Unique Maul found in Diablo I. Its high damage and good bonuses are offset by the big Mana penalty and the fact that it is two-handed. Both these shortcomings are not a problem for the Barbarian, as he can wield it one-handed and the class' magic penalty means he isn't affected by the -Mana.
