The National Centre for Technology in Education (NCTE) is an agency of the Irish Department of Education and Science. Founded in 1998, it is the government agency responsible for the use of information and communications technology (ICT) in education. The NCTE is a partner in a number of EU-funded initiatives promoting the safe and responsible use of the Internet, including .Safe, ONCE (Online Children’s Education) and SAFT (Safety Awareness for Teens). NCTE provides advice and information on the safe and responsible use of the Internet to schools.
