Ilanka was a basso-toned, at times sarcastic, New Republic Commander that oversaw the evacuation of Gyndine during the Battle of Gyndine at the beginning of the Yuuzhan Vong War. As the battle's intensity grew, Ilanka joined the retreat and was on board the final transport to leave the system with Ambassador Leia Organa Solo.
