Mr Adams was the janitor of a music school where Ena Sharples enquired about a scholarship for Tony Parsons in playing the harmonium in August 1970. She arrived at the school to see Mr Telford and encountered Adams while looking for Telford's office. Adams told her to have a seat. The character was credited as "Janitor". His surname was given in dialogue.
