Traveus is a dwarven merchant who brought the party together. He met them on the road to Fallcrest and offered to pay them in exchange for guarding his carriage. However, he was attacked by the minions of the late necromancer Malareth and his mysterious box was stolen. The party retrieved the box, which contained a skull pulsing with necromantic energy, and it was found out that Traveus was on his way to the Cairngorm peaks to purify it. He owned a donkey, which is now thought to be dead after bandits kidnapped the party. When he reached the altar to purify the skull, he instead uttered an evil ritual to transform him into a demon lord in an explosion of fire. This destroyed the skull.
