When Shawn was on a hiking trip with his three friends, he never expected that he would stumble upon four lost Celestial Guardian Beasts. The Celestial Bison chose Shawn for having the "Strength of Stone", and made him the Blue Cosmos Ranger. As a Ranger, Shawn embodies the planetary power of Saturn, and controls the elemental power of Earth and the strong spirit of the Bison.
