Engine coolers dissipate the heat the engine produces when burning the fuel. Nothing in particular is known about any engine coolers yet, but we assume that you engines will last longer if they won't overheat too much. Especially when you overclock your engines, a good engine cooler lowers the risk of a flame-out.
