A jumpship in the Vorkosigan Saga was a space ship that was capable of traversing a wormhole. This was not a trivial matter, requiring significant machinery, including a pair of Necklin rods, opposite and parallel to each other, that ran the full length of the ship and a great many connections throughout the ship that led to the pilot's headset, enabling the pilot to feel that the ship was an extension of his or her body.
