The hockey section was created in 1938 at the behest of Andrei Barbulescu after HC Bragadiru Bucharest was disbanded. They won the Category II Championship of Bucharest easily in their first season. In 1938-39, Venus finished atop the table of the Liga Regionala du Sud in the first round, but lost to Telefon Club Bucharest in the final. They qualified for the Romanian Championship in 1940, making it all the way to the final, where Rapid Bucharest was victorious, 5-2.
