In Season 2, Episode 5, Hazuki leaves the train with a salute towards Kumiko (Can view here). In some anime, they call this a "Blitzendegen". Based off of this forum, (link) this could just mean a way of saying goodbye or have no meaning at all. It's similar to waving at someone in other cultures
