Kurt Vonnegut, Jr. (November 11, 1922 - April 11, 2007) was an American writer. He started out writing popular fiction, then turned into more serious works, eventually becoming one of the most acclaimed US writers of the 20th century. Vonnegut often employed satirical humor and heavy surrealism in his works, which also often contained political and society criticism.
