Alatusaurus sanguideia is a 6-8 inches (15-20 centimeters) long subspecie of Alatusaurus, flying lizard that is found on Skull Island. The animal is described in the book "The World of Kong: A Natural History of Skull Island" (2005). The fiery-scaled Alatusaurus sanguideia was one of the most common Alatusaurus subspeacies found in the jungle. The subspeacie had a long whip-like tail, fully two-thirds of their total length, and a thorny head. Males had the most pronounced thorns on their tiny skulls, and used them to intimidate one another. They ate insects.
