Hurricane Colin was a large, long-lived, major hurricane that caused widespread damage in the Caribbean and United States. The cyclone was the third named storm, the first hurricane and the first major hurricane of the active 2028 Atlantic hurricane season. Colin formed in mid July, and reached Category 5 strength on the Saffir-Simpson Hurricane Scale, and became the 7th most intense Atlantic hurricane ever recorded.
