Orest Romashyna (b. October 27th 1943 in Rheine, Germany) is a former left winger. Romashyna became in 1963 the third pick of the 1963 NHL Amateur Draft, the first of the National Hockey League history, when the Boston Bruins selected him. Of Ukrainian descent, Romashyna imigrated from West Germany to Canada when he was three to settle in Ontario. He still had the German nationality when he was drafted; therefeore, he was the first European-born player of European nationality to be drafted in an NHL Draft.
