Jacob-D2472, born Jacob Tate, is a SPARTAN-III supersoldier in Delta company. Born in 2548 on the colony of Adrastos, he was orphaned when the Covenant attacked the planet shortly after he was born. On May 23, 2555, Jacob was conscripted into the SPARTAN-III program. In August of that year, he, along with the other SPARTANs of Delta company, were taken to the training facilities of the planet New Quebec.
