Gawad Kalinga (GK), officially the Gawad Kalinga Community Development Foundation Inc., is a Philippine-based anti-poverty (poverty reduction) and nation-building movement launched by Couples for Christ (CFC) to care for worse-off Filipinos and survivors of natural disasters. GK actively works in poverty-stricken areas by, first, befriending the poor and teaching them how to love God and Country, and second, encouraging them to literally rebuild their houses and their resources with the aim of becoming self-sufficient.
