Several leagues have worn the name English National League or a very close name in the history of hockey: * the original English National League, which existed from 1936 to 1954; * the revived English National League (1981-82), that lasted a single season; * the English National League (2001-02), that replaced the English Premier League; * the English National Premier League, top division of the English League from 2001 on. This one is more commonly referred to as the English Premier League.
