Dan Dare was captain aboard the ship the Good Shepherd on a mission to collect dust particles in deep space for scientific study. His ship was suddenly sucked through some kind of wormhole into another universe made up entirely of anti-matter. His ship was drawn down onto the planet Wa, populated by giant intelligent frogs. While his ship was protected by an energy shield, Dare was taken before their leader, Ranunculus, who tried to force Dare to reveal the location of his home planet so they could destroy it. Dare resisted and fought his way back to his ship. Once there, he triggered an explosion that destroyed the planet Wa, and catapulted his own ship back to his own universe.
