4 Runner was formed in 1993 when Craig Morris met Billy Crittenden in Nashville where both singers were working as songwriters. Later, Jim Chapman (brother-in-law of Christian musician Steven Curtis Chapman) and Lee Hillard joined the group. They toured with Kenny Rogers during the 1990's.
