The Earldom of Howell was a Manticoran peerage. In 1883 PD, the 9th Earl of Howell, Lord Willis Kemeny, was involved in a conspiracy that resulted in the assassination of King Roger III. After he was unmasked, Queen Elizabeth III forced him to renounce his seat in the House of Lords in favor of his daughter, Maralise. (HHA2.3: QG)
