The Haven is a first-tier manifestation of the Lancea et Sanctum. Rather than the city-wide institution, coteries modeled on the Haven most closely resemble early Christian cults or informal Bible study. Some are simply looking for a way to rationalize away their worst urges, taking comfort in the notion that if God created everything, that includes vampires, so they must have some degree of divine sanction for what they do. Others look to scripture for comfort, compassion, or even an alternative mode of salvation. Unless the larger Lancea, which draws heavily from Roman Catholicism, The Haven draws just as much if not moreso on models of smaller Protestant or Evangelical denominations who worship at strip malls or the community center basement.
