Aside from Star Trek, he also played parts in an episode of Murder She Wrote (1988, with Clint Carmichael and Michael Horton) and in the horror sequel Alligator II: The Mutation (1991, with Richard Lynch, Brock Peters, Linda Fetters, Evelyn Guerrero, Kane Hodder, Tom Magee, Alan Marcus, Warren Stevens, and Gene LeBell). In 2008 Burns appeared as Mr. King in the short drama Somebody's Gonna Pay.
