Conference play began with an upset loss to Colorado in Boulder, Colorado on September 29, and ended with an upset victory over Missouri in the Big 12 Championship Game on December 1st. The Sooners finished the season 11-3 (6-2 in Big 12) while winning their 5th Big 12 title and their 41st conference title overall. They received an automatic berth to the Fiesta Bowl, where they were upset by West Virginia, 28-48.
