Lynn Dalby, born 17th February 1947 in Harrogate is an English actress. She is most notable for her role as Ruth Merrick in the soap opera Emmerdale Farm in 1972. Dalby starred as "Hazel" in the 1970s series Budgie, which starred Adam Faith. 26 episodes were made, in 1970 and 1971. She trained at the Corona Acting School with her future Emmerdale co-star Frazer Hines. She appeared in Crossroads as a secretary called Rita Hughes, before starring in the crime drama Breakaway. After the end of her six-year marriage to director Ray Lonnen, Lynn emigrated to Australia.
