In zoology, a sessile animal is one that cannot move from one place to another; those that can are referred to as motile. In NetHack, sessile monsters have a speed of zero, and never move of their own volition, possessing only passive attacks. Only seven monsters are truly sessile in NetHack, although there are a larger number with relatively slow speeds. The sessile monsters are: * @ Oracle * j spotted jelly * j blue jelly * F red mold * F green mold * F brown mold * F yellow mold Tame sessile monsters may be displaced (1/7 chance).
