The Second Declaration from the Lancandon Jungle, issued in January 1995, was a follow up from the previous declaration that incited war with the Government of Mexico. This declaration laid the foundations of what would later become the Democratic Convention of Chiapas fifteen years later. It also followed up the commitments and established new objectives in the War of National Liberation after the end of the Gran Lucha (English: "Great Struggle")
