High Reaches Hold is located in the northern mountains. It was the original Hold of Fax, who took it over after killing his uncle, Lord Faroguy, previous Lord of High Reaches, and his sons, though Bargen survived and hid in the Weyr. The Hold is bitterly cold in the winter, and relies on wool from llamas to survive. It is the only significant Hold on its penninsula. Former Lord Warder Lytol lived in the High Reaches as a weaver, and may have originated in the area as well.
