The Act of Settlement was an Act passed by the Sivadian Parliament in March 3006 in response to the return of King Richard I who was believed dead after an assassination attempt by a Nall Warrior. The Act made clear that Richard was the rightful King, but ratified all actions taken while Queen Ashley was on the throne, a period of approximately four months, and converted that period into a regency. It also established the succession to the throne of Sivad, with the crown to pass first to Richard's heirs, then to Queen Ashley, then her heirs, and then direct lineal decendents of King Franklin I. This keeps the throne within the Isherwood line. The crown will also decend by absolute primogeniture, with the oldest child, male or female, inheriting the title.
