The head coach of the Brooks Bandits, Ryan Papaionnou was suspended for 15 games and assistant coach Scott Cunningham was suspended for five games and the Bandits organization was fined $15,000 by the Canadian Junior Hockey League as a result of the conduct exhibited during the semifinal game on May 21 between Brooks and Kelowna. In the July 16 release of the fine and susupensions the CJHL stated that "the discipline was meant to deter similar conduct with other teams and personnel from across the CJHL in the future."
