A.J. is one of Timmy Turner's two best friends. The other one is Chester McBadbat. Like Chester, Timmy and A.J. have been friends for a very long time, possibly going back to kindergarten. In the episode The Big Scoop, it is shown that all three boys were best friends back in the third grade, thus implying they had known each other for a while prior to that. Also, like Chester A.J. did not appear in the Oh Yeah! Cartoons. His first appearance was in the pilot The Big Problem. Unlike his two best friends, A.J. is a genius and nearly always gets A's in school. A.J. is also a bit more wealthy then his two best friends. Despite this, A.J. enjoys video games and comics books as much as Chester and Timmy do. A.J.,like Timmy, can be arrogant occasionally and show off his intelligence.
