On the 14 June 2007, he was admitted to hospital after suffering a stroke, on 27 December it was reported that he had walked fo the first time in 6 months. On the 10th March 2008 it was reported that he would be return to Eastenders. In August he was reported that he was rushed to hospital of a suspected second stroke.
