Skinner's Bookies was the first betting shop to open in Rosamund Street. Named after owner Sean Skinner, it occupied the site from 1994 to 1997 when Sean left the area. The next known owner was Peter Barlow who bought the premises four years later, opening Barlow's Bookies. The flat above the bookies, 19a Rosamund Street (with the entrance originally at 17a Victoria Street) has been home to various residents from 1996 to the present day.
