The Mercedes-Benz SL 600 (R129) was the top model of the non AMG R129 Mercedes-Benz SL series. The R129 series SL 600 model was produced from 1989 to 2002. The R129 line of SL models had several design changes over its thirteen year production. The models had small changes such as adopting an electric odometer and a Bose stereo as standard in 1995. Major changes occurred in 1997 with sport packages, rain-sensing windscreen wipers, side airbags, body colour bumpers, Xenon HID headlamps and redesigned convertible roof.
