As shown, Akatsuba is capable of using some lesser Fire Release techniques. These, however, are not his only specialty. After training with Takatsuke for the finals of the Chunin exam Akatsuba and Takatsuke learned to sync their techniques and create more powerful combo attacks, of which the best example is Great Flame Tornado Technique, which combines Takatsuke's Wind Release: Great Spinning Breakthrough and Akatsuba's Fire Release: Fire Stream.
