The Howlands Estate is a relatively small council estate on Lower Road and Moodkee Street in the Rotherhithe area of Southwark, London. Constructed on the site of bombed terraced housing in the late 1950s, the estate consists of two blocks of flats built out of brick. The two blocks sit parallel to eachother with a central courtyard space between them. Ritchie House is the larger block at 6 storeys in height, overlooking Moodkee Street. Wells House is shorter at 3 storeys, and overlooks Lower Road. It contains 18 flats. Both blocks have modern pitched roofs.
