Vines Garru was a Human female from Coruscant. Born during the years of the Galactic Republic, she attended a university on Coruscant and earned a doctorate in genetics, performing research into the science of the modificaton, removal and addition of genes. After the revelation of the Grand Army of the Republic, a force of millions of genetically identical clones, Garru selected a few to participate in her research, which she ensured remained humane, caring for the clone volunteers herself. Towards the end of the Clone Wars she discovered a method of removing the genetic alterations that the Kaminoans had implanted in the clone soldiers, allowing them to live lives of a normal span rather than suffer advanced aging.
