A Prequel to the original Saint Seiya, The Lost Canvas is set in the 18th century and tells the story of the previous Holy War between Hades and Athena. Tenma, a young orphan growing up in Italy, and his friends Alone and Sasha, find themselves caught up in the war. Sasha is the earthly incarnation of Athena, while Alone is possessed by Hades. Tenma goes on to become the Pegasus Saint and try to save his friends from the ongoing war. The series has been made into an OVA series.
