The Radicalists are a cultural group related to the Muggle Hippie movement. Starting in the 1960s, several wizarding families in Alta California began imitating the fashions and habits of the Hippie movement. In line with the notion of individual freedom, the Radicalists entertained notions of ending the Confederation of Wizards and trying to teach magic to Muggles. The Radicalists founded an independent wizarding school at Sedona which operates to this day. Darla Dearborn claimed that "no one who cares about their reputation would want to attend Sedona."
